The Multimedia Communication Networks (MMNet) research group at the Department of Applied Computer Science, Hochschule Fulda, works on network digital twins, software-defined and intent-based networking, and AI methods for operating and securing modern communication networks.

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Rieger leitet seit 2012 die Professur „Multimediale Kommunikationsnetze" am Fachbereich Angewandte Informatik der Hochschule Fulda und ist Studiengangleiter des B.Sc. Angewandte Informatik.
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Rieger has held the professorship for "Multimedia Communication Networks" at the Department of Applied Computer Science, Hochschule Fulda, since 2012, and serves as program director for the B.Sc. in Applied Computer Science. He completed his PhD in 2007 at the University of Göttingen on unified authentication in heterogeneous IT structures for secure eScience environments. Before his appointment, he worked as a researcher and project lead at GWDG Göttingen and at the Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) at KIT, focusing on identity management, network and systems management, and server virtualization for higher-education institutions. He earned his own degree in Applied Computer Science at Hochschule Fulda.
